Microsoft is upgrading Skype

Microsoft is upgrading Skype and coming with the improved interface for both mobile and desktop version. They are removing less used features from the app and also modifying the core functions such as video calling, voice calling and messaging. They are also removing the “Highlights” feature which was inspired by photo-messaging app Snapchat and added in the Skype last year. “Highlights” used to allow users to post a thread of photos and videos for friends to view and react to with emoticons.

Peter Skillman, The Director of design for Skype and Outlook wrote in a blog post: “This past year, we explored some design changes and heard from customers that we overcomplicated some of our core scenarios”
